David joined Elborne Mitchell in June 2017. He has a depth of experience in helping clients resolve contentious matters, particularly insurance and reinsurance claims and coverage issues. He has been recognised by leading legal directories as an established expert in his field and as “an excellent litigator”.
David’s dispute resolution expertise includes litigation, arbitration (including ICC, LCIA, ARIAS, Bermuda form, and ad hoc) and mediation, all often involving a significant international element. He is well known for handling disputes connected with Latin America and is also experienced in managing contentious matters in numerous other jurisdictions around the globe.
David is experienced in a wide range of classes of insurance business including property/business interruption, casualty, energy, mining, engineering/construction, political violence, BBB, D&O, financial lines, EL/PL and credit insurance. He regularly advises on the drafting of policy wordings and clauses.
He is a regular speaker (and occasional chairman) at insurance market events and has presented to various global insurance markets including in London, Munich, Paris, Bermuda, USA, Colombia and Chile.
Prior to joining Elbornes David was a partner in the London office of a leading global law firm. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his three young children, following a variety of sports and playing tennis and occasional squash.
